Serving Chronic Need: Mexico
Addressing crisis, disaster, and chronic poverty in Mexico
Hope Force International Mexico was created to increase the Hope Force team’s response capacity locally and regionally in Mexico. Just like our U.S.-based team, our Mexico team Reservists are also trained to deploy internationally as a vital part of HFI Mexico’s overall response.
Providing practical and emotional help
A well-equipped cadre of Reservists in Mexico respond immediately to disasters like hurricanes and floods throughout Mexico and Central America. When there’s not a pressing disaster to address, Reservists also help residents continue rebuilding efforts from past disasters. We recognize this as an amazing opportunity to extend the response capacity of HFI Mexico in our own hemisphere and around the world.
In addition to responding to sudden and unexpected disasters, HFI Mexico deploys teams multiple times per year to serve areas of chronic need.
- Mucking out homes
- Tarping and repairing roofs
- Building temporary shelters for hurricane victims
- Meeting chronic need in poverty-stricken areas
