Situation Report: Oklahoma Tornado

As the details emerge from Moore, Oklahoma, the tragic loss of life and property is overwhelming. Our prayers are with the survivors and first responders as the reality of the situation bears down upon them in full force. It is comforting to know that the Lord is uniquely with those who call out to Him from a place of such sorrow and weakness.

Hope Force International (HFI) is sending a team of experienced responders to make an immediate assessment and to establish a ?beach-head? from which to launch relief efforts. We have been in discussion with several local churches in an effort to establish working partnerships within reach of the devastation. A church that is prepared to receive us and others has expressed their deep desire to work with HFI to maximize benefits to the community. Additionally, we are collaborating with Conduit Mission, a local partner, to optimize resources and to mount an effective response. 

The response will include the application of blue tarps, plywood over broken windows, debris removal and emotional and spiritual care. We have also been in contact with our national partners, The Salvation Army, and anticipate providing assistance to their efforts n the days ahead as well.
