Second Grader's Spreading Hope
January 28, 2016
As Hope Force International continues to serve those impacted by disasters and chronic need, we marvel at the way God touches hearts across the ages. From an 87 year old serving coffee...to tornado survivors in Chattanooga...to a seven year donating one dollar after hearing stories of Haiti in Sunday School -- caring hearts across the globe make our work possible.
After four trips to Haiti with Hope Force, Georgia resident Angie Terry leaves a piece of her heart there with each visit. She’s fallen in love with the children and has been able to build significant relationships during her repeat visits. Once again this summer, Angie will board a plane back to her much loved Haitian friends.
As a second grade teacher, Angie decided to have Haiti be her class mission focus for the 2015-2016 school year. Her enthusiasm quickly spilled over to the students. “Every morning, we pray for Rene and Marianne Lako (HFI Haiti Coordinators) and the children of Haiti. We pray for God to meet their every need. As part of our Helping Haiti focus, my students collected over $300 for Christmas to help purchase much needed school supplies. My students were thrilled to help the children in Haiti!”
We look forward to the day when some of these students board a plane to Haiti themselves to see the country they prayed for as young ones!
