Give a Hygiene Gift Bag to a Haitian Child!
February 19, 2010
Haiti remains a top priority for Hope Force in the year ahead. We need your prayers for the courage, faith and humility required to see Hope Force put on a firm, stable and favorable footing in this devastated country. The Child Sponsorship Program is steadily growing and we are now more than halfway to our goal of supporting every vulnerable family in central Sous Savanne.
Hope Force invites you to give an added blessing to a child in Sous Savanne by sending a Hygiene Gift Bag. Our field team will deliver this during our April deployment. The average family in Sous Savanne lives a very humble life. A small gift for us becomes a huge gift to them. The children in need of a sponsor are on the priority list to receive these gift bags.We hope that you will enjoy the opportunity to assemble this simple gift package.
All items should be packed in a one-gallon Zip-Lock bag. Here are suggested items:
-Anti-bacterial bar soap
-Band-Aids of various sizes
-Toothpaste (no pumps please)
-Toothbrush

You can give online making note of your gift designation or send a check to our head office. Please note. "Hygiene Gift Bag" when giving. Our staff can purchase and assemble these for a donation of $20.
Special Note: You do not have to be a registered child sponsor to participate in the Hygiene Gift Bag initiative. But we do hope that you will consider supporting one of the Hope Force children as part of the Child Sponsorship Program. The monthly pledge amount is $29. This provides basic food and hygiene supplies on a regular basis for each child, benefiting not only them but their families as well. The program also includes community health education, clean water, and permanent housing projects in collaboration with other partners. Together, we've provided emergency shelter for hundreds of people and monthly food assistance to over 50 families through the Child Sponsorship Program; this translates into nearly 300 people.

An estimated 230,000 people lost their lives as a result of Haiti's magnitude 7 earthquake. The village of Sous Savanne is in a rural setting, even though the homes are small, a number of the 364 families lost loved ones due to falling debris and collapsing buildings. It is estimated that more than 90% of the dwellings in this region of the country were destroyed on January 12th.
Thank you for your continued commitment to partner with us at Hope Force in service to "the least of these".
