Canary Islands Volunteer Opportunity
June 3, 2014
Thirty years ago, Cherie and I followed a ?heart tug? to help those in need around the world, by joining an organization called Mercy Ships, an international medical charity. For 19 years, we served in various leadership capacities, working both internationally and in the US.
During those years, our passion for disaster response grew and in 2003, we said goodbye to our Mercy Ships family and began the work of Hope Force International. Our desire was to create a clear pathway to mobilize Christians into rapid disaster response scenarios around the world.
We recently received an email from Mercy Ships letting us know of an urgent volunteer request for their upcoming dry dock of the M/V Africa Mercy. Below are the specifics of the needs and contact instructions.
Mercy Ships has an URGENT need for plumbers, carpenters, electricians, HVAC technician, pipefitters, and welders to serve on board the M/V Africa Mercy this summer for as short as two weeks during their Shipyard Projects Phase in Tenerife, Spain from June 16-August 9, 2014. If needed, Mercy Ships is willing to cover travel costs and room and board expenses.
Please contact Mercy Ships - General and Technical Recruiter, Tracey Bartula, at tracey.bartula@mercyships.org or (903) 939-7685, if you--or anyone you know of--may be interested.
If this turns out to be your ?pathway of service? this summer, please let us know!
