"Blitz Build" in Biloxi -- Bringing the Hands and Feet of Christ from Many Traditions
After Katrina’s winds and devastating thirty-foot storm surge, Biloxi changed dramatically.  Most everything that existed before was destroyed.  Three years after the storm, the secrets of what Biloxi “was” are not easily uncovered.  Yet, in 2008, life goes on and God still smiles on Biloxi!

Monday, June 16th through Thursday, June 26th, 2008, Craig Snow and his Hope Force team, in conjunction with Katrina Relief, Operation Rebuild, and other big-hearted volunteer groups, worked to complete another “Blitz Build” of a single-family home in Biloxi.

Monday morning, the 16th, wrapped the team in summer sun and humidity. A diverse group of approximately fifty volunteers began construction on a new home for Iesha Brimage and her family. Old Order Mennonites and Hope Force interns and volunteers, joined to meet the challenge of building Iesha’s quality constructed house in the shortest time possible. Christ-followers with a wide variety of traditions gathered to meet the contest.

On Thursday, June 25, 2008 Iesha’s beautiful new home was dedicated to the God who energizes...saves... and shows us how to love by saying, “…through love, serve one another.” Galatians 5:13b

Hope Force Celebrates First International Training!

Hope Force Celebrates First International Training!
A few weeks ago, we were privileged to share our HFI four-day basic training with over 25 people in Pachuca, Mexico – about one hour from Mexico City. Participants came from Guadalajara, Mexico City, Cancun, Juarez, and Chiapas. We want to extend a special “thank you” to our hosts, Ricardo and Citlali Hernandez, Directors of YWAM Pachuca, and their wonderful team.

We were also honored to have our colleagues in the Salvation Army present for one of the days, collaborating with us to train our participants on one of their new mobile feeding units, as well as various topics. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Captain Gutierrez and Captain Camarillo of The Salvation Army for helping to make this a highly successful training event.

Recent floods in the Mexican State of Tabasco has brought a heightened awareness of the need for greater numbers of emergency disaster responders. We look forward to growing our Hope Force International Reservist ranks in Mexico, and for the opportunity to partner with our colleagues in The Salvation Army – Mexico.
