Nepal - Earthquake Situation Report

April 29, 2015

UO3A1534As we watch the news of the aftermath from the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal, our hearts grieve for those put in harms way.  Over 5,000 have perished, more than 10,000 injured, and an estimated 8 million people have been affected.

Hope Force International initiated a response protocol and began working with partner organizations to determine the most urgent needs and a best way forward. Staff at Hope Force headquarters in Brentwood, Tennessee are assisting in the coordination of deployment of medical teams focusing initially on orthopedics and general surgery. Reports from the field indicate an urgent need for medical supplies, and efforts are underway to create a clear pathway for assistance.  We currently have contacts in Nepal making assessments, while other Reservists stand by ready to help.

As is the case for most large-scale international disasters, the situation on the ground in Nepal remains ever changing and chaotic. Confirming ?next steps? is a journey of partner relationships, research, teamwork and prayer.

Please continue to pray for the survivors of Nepal, and for Hope Force as we continue to join in the response to this heart-wrenching need. Please donate to our Nepal Earthquake Response.
