Hope Force Haiti Summer

Our Hope Force Haiti House has made significant progress in August. We had the privilege of working with the Westgate Team from Atlanta in July. Their help with getting the roof in place has allowed the interior work to excel: tile work, ceiling, painting and more. Looking forward to living in the community we love.

Our sphere of influence for building Houses of Hope remains strong in the village of Sous Savanne as we serve two ladies and their families there. Meanwhile, we are building another House in the the nearby mountainous village of Babay. Our waiting list for homes is substantial. We've built seven homes so far this year, which brings our total count to 45. As funds are prayed in, we are compelled and excited to bring hope through these houses to mothers and their children who live in destitute circumstances. 

We love the children in Haiti! Investing in such a meaningful manner for the hope of Haiti's future is part of what excites and keeps us motivated to continue the Child Sponsorship Program (CSP). The program is slowly growing, and we are thrilled to have 99 children currently enrolled. Although we still have a monthly food distribution of rice and "Manna Packs" to help these children and their families, our focus has more recently shifted towards helping with the need for education. All of our CSP children are now receiving help with school fees, uniforms, and in some cases, school books. Several of the children are already in secondary school, which, if you are a girl, is a significant achievment. 

It is always a privilege to have mission outreach teams join us in our work in Haiti! This summer The Westgate Team from Atlanta, GA encouraged us with their hearts and hands of service. They held Vacation Bible School (VBS) programs in several different locations, helped with a leadership seminar in Sous Savanne, as well as poured sweat equity into our Hope Force House. We are so grateful not only for their team, but all who join our efforts of spreading hope in Haiti! 

You are wanted in Haiti! The pictures you've just seen are just a glimpse of how exciting it is to be involved in spreading hope! When doing an outreach in Haiti with Hope Force, you can expect a variety of experiences. Involvment in food distributions, VBS, schools, church, seminars, building, painting, health clinics, and primary education. We have openings for teams in December and all of 2015! Come join us!
